Now compare X-Plane with add-ons to FSX with add-ons!

Many users are put off by the unfriendly interface that X-Plane uses and we all know that issue is being addressed. People who do persevere and adapt from the Microsoft way of doing things, rate X-Plane as being a better sim engine than any other.

Some criticise the X-Plane default scenery not being as good as FSX are usually comparing FSX with GEX or ORBx installed and X-Plane with default scenery. That really isn’t comparing like for like. Remember how everyone laughed when they realised Microsoft had only made reasonable textures for FSX Summer season, USA only.

If GEX or ORBx were made compatible and put into X-Plane, then you could make a fair comparison and my personal view is X-Plane would win hands down.

Take a look at this video with a heap of add-ons and tell me X-Plane 10 is not a viable alternative. It will take time before third party add-on developers really get to grips with bringing their packages into X-Plane, but my money is on X-Plane still being around long after FSX stops being compatible with the latest Microsoft operating system. (Remember the difficulty installing FSX and add-ons in their own software called Vista and the problems that caused…)

X-Plane is cross platform and with an active “listening” team of developers who update and improve the engine FREE!
